Camilla Engman is creating a book of drawings done by other people of her dog Morran. I took this as an opportunity to also sketch out an Iranian rug I’ve been wanting to draw for some time.

The Village of Arts and Humanities in Philadelphia has commissioned me to write and illustrate a children’s book about their beginnings. The picture book will retell the Village’s founding story, as well as serve as a guide to the Village’s murals and sculpture gardens. I’ve decided to document my process, ideas, and sketches as I create the book on storyofthevillage.tumblr.com. I’ll put some select drawings on this blog as well. Very excited about this project.
